In 2011, I was selected to attend a photography workshop at the Photo Meeting of Stream Photo Asia in Bangkok. We were divided into small groups, and I worked under the guidance of Giulio di Sturco (Getty Images) as my tutor. At that time, there was serious flooding in Bangkok. Thinking the photograph the floods, I decided to walk along the Chao Praya River. While walking in Wang Burapha Phirom Sub-district, I discovered the interesting Pak Khlong Talat, Bangkok’s main flower market where vendors sell flowers, fruits and vegetables. I spent my time there mostly late at night, where I have seen the tiredness of vendors and the carriers sleeping.

“Energy” reflects these moments, when they were saving their energy before rush hour at the market began before dawn.
